Senior Manager-Relationship Management | American Express | New York, NY

The Retail Portal Development team is developing a Purchasing Site which will serve Middle Market Corporate clients as part of the overall Savings @ Work program. The objective of the site is to drive Cardmember loyalty while providing ongoing savings and a best-in-class online shopping experience to corporate clients. The site is initially targeting top merchants in office supplies/office furniture, computers, electronics and gifts categories. Once merchant coverage objectives in these categories are achieved, the team may pursue merchants in additional categories, such as promotional items.
- Refine strategy for the computer hardware/software space
- Acquire computer hardware/software merchants to participate on the Purchasing Site
- Negotiate premium online commissions with online retailers
- Support development of product strategy (ie represent the merchant/supplier angle) in configurables (computers, promotional items, office furniture)
- Conduct client management in above mentioned categories
- Support merchandising strategy/objectives for portal in the above mentioned categories
- The Senior Manager will manage one Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Developing winning strategies
- Demonstrated project management skill set
- Demonstrated ability to communicate a premium value proposition to external customers and sell AXP products and programs to the same
- Strong internal relationship management skills
- Experience with managing and developing others
- Proven ability to report on a regular basis to senior leadership
